I would love to stay in touch with you all while I’m in Madison, India and elsewhere – here are a few ways to make that happen:
Send Me Mail/Write to Me!
I love writing and reading letters and am always looking for pen pals! Here is my address:
Jagori Rural Charitable Trust
V.P.O. Rakkar (Sidhbari)
District Kangra, 176057 (H.P.)
If you’re sending anything bigger or more valuable than a letter, use the name “Gaytri Sharma” (my friend who works at Jagori) instead of mine – whatever you send will (supposedly) be less likely to be tampered with.
If you’d like a postcard from India or elsewhere in Asia, send me your address via one of the points of contact below – I’m making a list now!
My internet may not work 100% of the time (once I get to India), but if you e-mail me I will definitely get back to you: firstname.lastname@example.org.
My Skype name is xtina.james – if I am online, I am on Skype.
I will have a cell phone in India, but it might take me a week or so to get it up and running. If you’d like the number, feel free to e-mail/skype/Facebook me! It’s definitely cheaper for me to call the US, but you can sign up to call me through Rebtel, a service that lets you call internationally right from your cell phone, if you want – from the U.S. it’s about $0.02/minute ($.04/text), compared with Skype at around $0.09/minute. Sweet deal!
You can also find me on Facebook and message me there!
I would love to get visitors in my lofty mountain home! If you’re planning a visit, just know that I am trying to have the first 8 weeks at my site be for me to acclimate and build trust and partnership with the people I will be working with. I’m also not the easiest person to get to – I’m about a days ride by bus or train from Delhi. More on this later, but please visit 🙂
